Fancy endless stretches of white sand, rolling blue surf, and a welcoming water temperature suited to swimming, surfing and relaxing any time of year?

Welcome to Noosa, where visitors are spoilt for choice when it comes to an endless list of idyllic beaches for families and fun lovers alike.

To help you narrow down the options, here’s a quick guide to the best beaches of Noosa…

Main Beach

Renowned the world over, Noosa Main Beach is the prime reason many choose to visit this picture-perfect holiday destination. Framed by the green of the national park, this beachfront offers a gentle swell suited perfectly to families, but also provides some of the best surf conditions in Australia a little north or towards the point.

That makes Main Beach a popular option for swimmers and surfers alike. It can be accessed at the Surf Club on Hastings Street, a little further towards the river mouth via the Noosa Spit, and you can also discover some picturesque beach enclaves when walking the Noosa National Park.

Sunshine Beach

Around the point from Noosa is Sunshine Beach and it marks the beginning of a swathe of sand that stretches all the way from Noosa National Park to the Maroochydore River and Twin Waters.

Sunshine has a number of beach accesses, with the main one available next to the Sunshine Beach surf Club off Duke Street. Here, the beach is patrolled and suited to families, while there is a nearby shopping strip complete with cafes.

Further north, Sunshine is not patrolled but is dog friendly, while further south lies Sunrise Beach – another great stretch of sand which also features a local cafe.

On the right day, Sunshine and Sunrise are ideal for surfing, offering open beaches that pump under good conditions.

Castaways Beach

Castaways is one of those beaches that the locals often flock to. Just a little south from Sunrise, this beach is also dog friendly, is unpatrolled and is accessed via a small carpark off David Low Way.

Castaways offers open water where you simply step off the sand into the blue of the Pacific. It’s not particularly crowded and has a bathroom.

On the flipside, it also doesn’t feature any shops, so is the type of beach you go to when swimming, sand and surf are the main order of the day.

Peregian Beach

Located further south again from Castaways is Peregian Beach with the main accesses available from the park near the Peregian Village.

In general, this is a perfect site for a family day at the beach, with a grassy area for barbecues, a nearby village for shopping, and a patrolled area on the actual beachfront.

Again, this is an open beach, so it’s not as protected or calm as Noosa, but offers the opportunity for a great day out where everything you need is within an easy stroll.

…near the shores of Noosa

Noosa is a popular holiday destination with ideal weather almost every day of the year. Its beautiful National Park is a nature sanctuary where you can walk along the ocean for long walks or quick strolls. Picnics and koala sightings are favorites among locals and tourists alike. Noosa’s beautiful beaches are always alive with sporting events or festivals, while downtown Hasting Street features award winning shopping and restaurants with festivities abound.

Tucked away from the action is Noosa Quays, a luxurious waterfront resort known for its large balconies, direct seaside views and best of all, happy customers. A quick glance at the resort’s guestbook shows customers having “the best holiday ever,” in “fantastic apartments.”

“Its position is second to none,” one customer stated. The resort, just a quick drive or 15 minute walk to Hasting Street, is still quite tucked away in serenity on its private beach. Its location is perfect for family gatherings, as each room is waterfront except one that overlooks the pool. “The ground floor apartments in particular are great if you have children, as you step from your patio onto the grass lawn, then the sand and water,” one parent stated. Families of five consistently claim the apartments still felt spacious with room to stretch sofas and spread out in the kitchen. “My extended recent stay was bliss,” a customer thoughtfully wrote after his stay in the poolside room.

If you’ve longed to visit beautiful Noosa, now is the time. As the resort begins its remodel, we are offering discounts throughout the month of May. Savings of up to 20% are offered, so families can book a waterfront vacation for as little as $200 a night. If you love sleeping in, the resort’s policy ensures guests won’t be interrupted by early, evening or weekend construction noise.
