Four days of flavour at the Noosa Food and Wine Festival

Renowned for its embrace of all things culinary, Noosa is readying to host its most flavoursome and famous festival of the year – The Noosa Food and Wine Festival.

Running from May 17 to May 20, this event showcases the best and the brightest local, national and international chefs, along with a smorgasbord of sensational flavours to indulge the appetite of any ardent culinary fan.

Here’s a rundown of what’s on offer for this year’s festival and how to make the most of a truly Noosa experience.

What is the Noosa Food and Wine Festival?

Now in its 16th year, the Noosa Food and Wine Festival has evolved to become an internationally recognised event that draws the finest local, national and international talent to showcase an array of sensational food, wine and beer available in the majestic Noosa region.

Over the course of four days the township’s stunning waterways and beaches are the backdrop for a series of food and wine related events. These include cooking masterclasses, tastings, beachside dinners, and garden parties along with an impressive line-up of entertainment, food adventures and events.

The 2018 program

This year sees over 50 events take place across the festival weekend. Ranging from a long lunch on Hastings Street, to a sunset dinner under tipis at Main Beach, the event captures both the magic of Noosa’s landscape and the fulsome flavours of its homegrown cuisine.

The program revolves around Main Beach, Hastings Street and an exciting Festival Village overlooking Noosa Waters yet extends to Hinterland Food Trails, tours, tasting and more.

Many of the region’s acclaimed restaurants bring their skills to the festival table, with signature venues throughout the district hosting festival events.

Chefs of note attending this year’s event include Miguel Maestre, Matt Sinclair, Paul Carmichael, Kirsten Tibballs, Matt Preston, George Calombaris, and Colin Fassnidge.

Meanwhile, the Festival Village at Noosa Heads Lions Park will be the epicentre of activity offering masterclasses and the Chef’s Skills Table, a Craft Beer and Cider Corner, Pimm’s Garden Party, tastings from wineries and champagne houses, Producers Pavilion, a taste of Noosa restaurants and live music as the sun sets.
