…by the sea

This season, locals and tourists can participate in a fabulous fundraising opportunity that is sure to offer fun and excitement, all for a heartwarming cause. On 17 July, the compassionate Noosa community will gather to participate in the Noosa Hydrothon. This year, all proceeds will go to the courageous Tainui “T” Kaihau and his family to help “T” continue to bravely fight acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

This year, the Noosa Hydrothon offers competitors 16 years or older the opportunity to race over 18km made up of a 1km swim, 9km ski paddle and 8km run. For an entry fee of $80, all participants will receive a finishers’ medal, race tattoos, swim cap, run belt and Hydrovest.

For children ages 9 to 10 years, the H2K offers an introductory event that consists of a swim of 250 meters, paddle 500 meters and run 1.25 km. With an entry fee of $15, participants will receive a silicon swim cap. For children ages 11 to 15, the Noosa Hydrothon H4K offers two categories, short board and long board, both consisting of a 500 meter swim, 1km prone paddle and a 2.5km run. With an entry fee of $40, all participants will receive a pink HydroVest.

In addition, for all competitors who enter by June 30th, with a pledge of $60.00 to further benefit the cause, a special race top to keep cool will be made available as Noosa gathers to race for ‘T.”
