Holiday celebrations bring the Christmas spirit to town

Santa Clause is coming to town…

…with places to celebrate all over Noosa

Noosa will be celebrating the holiday season with markets, carollers and celebrations all over town! Beginning this Sunday, from 4 to 8 pm at Tewantin-Noosa RSL Memorial Park, will be the 21st Tewantin Christmas Carnival, a free event with candlelight Christmas carols, rides, ice cream and fireworks over the beautiful Noosa River.

On 16 December, Santa visits the Noosa Junction Christmas Twilight Market, which is held from 5 to 9 pm with food, artisan markets and entertainment for the whole family. The Noosa Choral Wassail – Christmas Cheer Concert begins the same evening at 7 pm, and will also take place on the 17th at The J in Noosa Heads. Tickets must be booked in advance at only $35 each, and the event will feature table seating, complimentary Christmas fare with mince pies, Christmas cakes and cheese platters as well as bar service.

Carols by the River will be held at 6 pm 18 December at Noosaville Lions Park, where Santa will stop to visit this annual event with food vendors. On 23 December, gates open at 5.30 pm for Aussie World’s Christmas Wonderland, where the park is transformed into a Christmas Wonderland with carollers, and more than 30 rides and attractions such as the Night Before Christmas House and the Gingerbread Man Show. Of course, Santa and his helpers will also visit, and tickets are $25 per person for groups with fewer than five.

From now until Christmas Eve, enjoy Santa’s Enchanted Rainforest, open from 9 am most days, where you can have your picture taken with Santa and receive a gift, and enjoy story time in the rainforest with Santa every Tuesday at 9 am until Christmas. Lastly, each Tuesday – Saturday until Christmas, Santa will be waiting at the Garden Gazebo at 9.30 am at the Christmas at the Ginger Factory, where he reads his favourite stories and joins photos for free. Kids can even decorate their own cookies, enjoy rides, lovely gardens and life-sized board games.

If you’re looking to be in the centre of it all, Noosa Quays is just a stroll away from downtown Hastings Street, and a quick water taxi away from most holiday events. Tucked away among its own tropical gardens, the resort sits on its private beach, with oversized balconies looking directly at the serene Noosa Sound. Spacious apartments, with up to four bedrooms, can accommodate the whole family, or a romantic getaway, with amenities such as the pool and sauna.
