Hastings Street lights up

Santa’s helpers take over Hasting Street…

…in annual Noosa tree lighting event

Join in the fun this Friday 26 November when Santa and his helpers close Hasting Street for the annual lighting of the Hasting Street Christmas tree. Locals and tourists will welcome in the festive season gathered at the roundabout as the Noosa Chorale’s angelic tunes set the backdrop.

The enchanting caroling begins close to Aroma’s café, and later moves to outside of Café Le Monde. Santa, his elves and even the Noosa Heads Surf Club nippers march throughout the area, meeting at the surf club’s car park for candy. After most of his year at the North Pole, Santa comes prepared to hit the beach in Noosa, as he rides his quad bike through the parade.

The annual lighting of the Hasting Street tree has become a much loved event over the years, as spectators wait for the MC Sam Coward, to announce the very moment the tree is brought to life. The event begins at 5:30 pm on Friday with street performers and parade events, and the Christmas tree is scheduled to be lit at 6 pm.

There’s still time to get away before Christmas and relax in paradise with availability at Noosa Quays this weekend. With views from almost every apartment, simply step outside on to your veranda for unsurpassed water views and a saltwater breeze. Take a stroll along the beach and enjoy an abundance of festivities and joy just minutes away.
