Australia Day in Noosa

See what makes Australia wonderful…

…and celebrate it all day!

On Tuesday, 26 January, the glistening Noosa River will be the backdrop for all ages celebrating Australia Day in Noosaville Lions Park. Enjoy breakfast cooked by Noosa Heads Rotary Club at 7 am while listening to the Noosa Chorale, and then enjoy the citizenship ceremony with National Anthem sung by Mick Lindsay.

Entertainment continues throughout the day until 2 pm, with line ups featuring Harii Bandhu, The Custard Apples and Ryan Giles Band. Locals and tourists alike will enjoy stand up paddle boarding on the Noosa River, or sailing on a tacker for a gold coin with the Noosa Yacht and Rowing Club.

Other activities include markets, Tewantin Noosa Lion Club’s barbecue van and chip trailer, thong throwing, toilet roll toss, hair art and face painting, Andino roaming magician, Twister Mister balloon art, pony rides, merry-go-round and a jumping castle. Best of all, though admission is free, all money raised goes to the Salvation Army, so celebrating the kindness Australians are known for has never been more fun.

To be close to the action with plenty of relaxation, a stay at Noosa Quays resort is sure to complete your family’s celebration. Tucked away by the Noosa Sound, its private beach with tropical gardens is perfect for relaxation, paddle boarding or even a private jetty. Sea salt breezes can be felt from the oversized balconies overlooking the tranquil waters. The location is central to Hastings Street as well as the National Park, so you can experience a little of everything that makes Australia so special.
